WINTER STORM WATCH late Saturday through Sunday for most all passes across western Montana and lower elevations including Butte, Anaconda, Seeley Lake and Georgetown Lake. Snowfall of 4 to 14 inches in the mountains and 1 to 4 inches in the lower elevations. Missoula, Bozeman and Kalispell are not under the watch, but rain may change to snow by Sunday morning.
Very mild and breezy weather is expected Halloween evening with partly cloudy skies. The pleasant weather will last through early Saturday, then some major changes will occur across western Montana.
A major winter like storm will bring rain and snow to the region this weekend. Rain and snow will develop by late Saturday afternoon and spread across the region Saturday night. As colder air invades Montana, the rain will change to snow at the lower elevations. Besides snow in the mountains and some lower elevations, rainfall preceding the snow will be widespread, with some areas receiving a quarter to almost an inch of rain.
Highs Saturday in the upper 40s in Kalispell, the 50s in Missoula and Butte to the 60s in Bozeman. Colder area wide Saturday night and Sunday. Lows in the upper 20s and 30s with highs in the upper 30s to lower 40s.
