A storm system will develop over the northern Rockies through Friday, bringing rain, snow and wind to western Montana.
Rain and snow showers will develop Wednesday night and continue Thursday. There will be some snow accumulations in the mountains, but widespread heavy snow is not anticipated.
A more concentrated area of heavier snow will develop Thursday night and Friday across southwest Montana, including the Bozeman area. WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY during that period for Gallatin, Beaverhead and Madison Counties. Snowfall of 1 to 3 inches in the valleys and 3 to 7 inches in the mountains.
Minor accumulations are possible elsewhere, including the Missoula, Butte and Kalispell areas.
Lows in the upper 20s to lower 30s with highs Thursday in the upper 30s and 40s. Highs will drop to the 30s area wide Friday.
Drier this weekend and rather cold. Highs will be in the 30s to around 40. Highs will warm back to the low 40s early next week.
