A few thunderstorms followed by cooler air

A cold front will usher cooler air into western Montana along with a chance of showers and thunderstorms.

A few storms could be strong overnight, with the main threats lightning and gusty winds up to 40 mph.  The entire region has a chance of showers and thunderstorms, but models seem to favor the area between Missoula and Butte after 8 pm and again around 2 am Tuesday, in the Kalispell area around 5 to 6 am Tuesday and tomorrow afternoon in the Butte and Bozeman areas.

Outside of the showers and thunderstorms, skies will be variably cloudy.

Lows in the 50s to around 60 with highs Tuesday in the 70s.  Highs will also be in the 70s Wednesday and Thursday.

Warmer Friday and this weekend with highs warming back to the upper 70s and 80s.

Some models suggest a few showers on Saturday and a big warming trend during the week of the Fourth of July.
