Rain showers return to our forecast today. This next wave of moisture will bring off-and-on showers west of the divide in the Missoula and Kalispell areas. A few showers are possible around Butte as well while most of Southwest Montana will see shower activity limited to high elevations with intermittent clouds and sunshine. Highs today will reach into the upper 50s and in Bozeman, the low 60s.
Showers continue overnight with lows in the 40s. Rain lingers through most of the day on Friday with a slightly better chance for showers in Southwest Montana compared than Thursday. We get a break from the rain for most of Saturday before antoehr system sends some very cool air into the region on Sunday.
Astronomy Note: A partial solar eclipse will be visible today between 3 pm and 5:30 pm across Montana. A little over half of the sun will be obscured by the moon during this time. It's unlikely that there will be enough breaks in the clouds to see this eclipse anywhere except for Bozeman. If you are lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the eclipse today, don't look directly into the sun!
