First Alert 48 Hour Forecast

Several waves of moisture will impact the region today through Monday. The first will move into the area by mid-day. Valley rain and mountain snow will overspread the region. Lookout, Lolo, Lost Trail, and Marias passes will see a slushy 1 to 4 inches of snow. Today's high temperatures will be in the 30s.

A break from the wet weather is expected early Saturday, but showers return by late Saturday night.  Pass travel will be impacted this weekend. Lookout, Lolo, Lost Trail, and Marias passes could see an accumulation of 4 to 8 inches of snow by Sunday. Outside of the precipitation, skies will be mostly cloudy.  Highs will be in the 30s and 40s by Sunday and Monday.

Periodic valley rain and mountain snow will be possible Tuesday and Christmas Eve of next week.  By Christmas Eve, the weather models are suggesting that an arctic front will bring much colder air to the area.  During the transition there will be a chance of snow along with gusty winds.  Highs will drop to the upper 20s and 30s Christmas Eve to the 20s Christmas Day.
