First Alert 48 Hour Forecast

It's just what the doctor ordered for western Montana.  We are expecting a cooler and wetter weather pattern through the weekend with very autumn like weather.

A cold front is pushing across western Montana.  It will stall across the southwest part of the state through Friday.  Meanwhile, a large storm system over the Pugent Sound will slowly swing through the northern Rockies through this weekend.  Gusty winds will occur Wednesday evening as the front moves through the area.  Mostly cloudy with a few sprinkles and showers developing west of the divide around Missoula and possibly Kalispell.  Otherwise, lows in the 40s to lower 50s.

Showers will gradually increase across the region Thursday, but again focus mainly on areas west of the divide.  Still fairly warm in Bozeman near the front with highs in the 70s.  Behind the front, highs will remain in the 60s.

As the west coast storm moves into western Montana, rain will become more widespread later Friday through Saturday.  The rain will gradually diminish Saturday night and early Sunday.  Some areas will receive beneficial rainfall with more than a half inch in some places.  Snow may fall in Glacier National Park, with snow possible from Essex to Marias Pass.  During this time lows will be mostly in the 40s with highs only in the upper 50s and 60s, which is well below normal for this time of the year.

Warmer weather is expected next week.
