More rain and snow in forecast

A moist and unsettled Pacific flow will keep clouds rolling through western Montana with more rain and snow expected on a periodic basis through the weekend.

One storm system is moving out of the region.  We will see lingering rain and mountain snow showers through the evening.  An isolated thunderstorm is also possible early.  Otherwise, partly to mostly cloudy and chilly with lows in the 30s.

Another surge of moisture enters the area Wednesday, bringing another round of valley rain and mountain snow.  Snowfall of 1 to 4 inches is possible in the West Yellowstone and Big Sky areas.  An isolated thunderstorm is not out of the question.  Highs in the upper 40s to lower 50s.

More rain and snow are expected Thursday and Friday.  With colder air moving into western Montana, snow levels will drop to the valley floors in the mornings.  So many valleys will experience some snow.  However, most the accumulating snow will stay in the mountains, but it may impact travel at the passes.

Highs will drop to the 40s on Thursday warming back to the 50s by the weekend and early next week.

More rain and snow are expected this weekend through the middle of next week with below normal temperatures as we enter May.
