Weather News

Sunday showers, but big change to warmer weather coming

Scattered showers will continue into Saturday evening in northwest Montana with partly cloudy skies elsewhere. Cloud cover will begin to increase this evening which should keep evening conditions mild. Morning lows will reach the mid 30s to low 40s.

Showers sweep into the area early Sunday morning, beginning in Kalispell and tracking southeast through the day. Light snow over mountain passes is likely during the morning, but snow levels will quickly rise to over 7000 feet and will be of little threat. An isolated lightning strike will be possible in the Bozeman area Sunday afternoon.

Sunday's rain is quite likely to set a new April rainfall record for Kalispell. As of Saturday morning less than a tenth of an inch was needed to break the record.

Showery weather continues Monday and Tuesday with heavier rain and mountain snow on Tuesday in southwest Montana. Snow could fall Tuesday morning in Butte.

We're tracking a big change on Wednesday that could deliver us the warmest weather of the year so far. A couple days of sunshine will send temperatures into the upper 60s to mid 70s Wednesday through Friday, with the warmest day on Thursday.Showers are possible again starting next Friday with cooler conditions next weekend.
