Southern Cal running back Tre Madden missed more practice this week because of a toe injury that leaves him questionable for when the Trojans open their season against Fresno State on Aug. 30.

Madden has been seen by a foot specialist and USC coach Steve Sarkisian is awaiting results.

Madden rushed for 583 yards and three touchdowns during the first five games of last season before suffering a hamstring injury that limited his role down the stretch.

"We're taking every precautionary action we can to make sure that Tre is great and ready to go when his time is called again," Sarkisian told the Los Angeles Times.
