UM's Davidson wins Player of the Week again

MISSOULA, Mont. - The Montana women's tennis team finished their regular season on a 6-match winning streak and a 9-1 conference record.  The lone senior on the team in Heather Davidson led the way for Montana this year and this week she has been named Big Sky player of the week.

Last week Davidson went 4-0 in #1 singles and #1 doubles versus Southern Utah and Idaho State.  Davidson teamed up with Laurence Pelchat for doubles and the duo outscored their opponent 16-2 on the week.  In Davidson's two singles victories she only dropped one set while winning four.

On the season Davidson went 8-2 in Big Sky singles matches this spring and 5-5 in doubles. For her Grizzly career she was 25-9 in league singles matches and 24-10 in doubles.

It was the second player of the week honor for Davidson this spring and the third of her career.

The conference tournament starts up this Friday in California.  Davidson and her squad are the #2 seed and will receive a bye into Saturday's semifinal round.
