MISSOULA, Mont. - Saturday night the Montana Grizzly basketball team was on the road facing Eastern Washington. The Griz beat the Eagles 65-46 and picked up their 12th conference win on the year.
The Eagles jumped out to a quick 11-2 lead in the first minutes of play, but Montana started playing solid defense and held the Eagles to just seven points the rest of the half.
The Griz found a rhythm offensively as they went on a 19-0 first-half run, Montana also held the Eagles to a season-low point total of 46 points, including only 18 in the first half.
Senior guard Will Cherry scored lead the way in scoring for Montana with his 13 points, Cherry also had 7 assists.
The Grizzlies have now won 12-straight games, and have not lost since falling to South Dakota State in double overtime back in December.
Entering yesterday's game, Montana's 11-game win streak was the third-longest in NCAA Division I basketball.
The Griz are ranked 16th in the mid major top 25 poll and they have now won 23 consecutive Big Sky Conference games.
The Griz will be back home for their next two games starting with Northern Colorado this Thursday, Feb. 7th, followed by North Dakota next Saturday, Feb. 9th.
