The first member of the Montana State Bobcat's 2014 senior football class is heading to a professional football team.
Former MSU defensive lineman Preston Gale announced on his Twitter account Saturday that he would joining the Ottawa Redblacks, a team in the Canadian Football League.
Gale was not drafted in the NFL draft last month and has been searching for a team, NFL or CFL, to continue his football career.
We spoke to Gale Sunday night and he tells us he has not officially signed anything, as he is waiting for his passport to come in. Once his passport arrives, he will then head to Ottawa for training camp, where he says he will compete with two other players for a job.
Gale suffered a knee injury in the Bobcat's fall training camp, but still managed to recorded 19 tackles, 3.5 for a loss, and 2.5 sacks this season.
2014 is the inaugural season for the Redblacks in the CFL.
