The MSU football team unveiled their new uniforms today at Bobcat Stadium with many different options to pick from.
"We have six different combinations that we can put together," said Head Coach Rob Ash. "We have three for home games and three for away games."
The Bobcats then performed a runway show for the big crowd on hand, which caught many of the players by surprise.
"When I initially got to Montana State it wasn't like this," said Quarterback DeNarius McGhee. "But now we've won a few games and we have a pretty good reputation around the community and there's a lot of support from that."
"You come out of those curtains and you see all the support and you're just kind of taken back," said Wide Receiver Tanner Bleskin. "You're like, whoa, this is just a jersey unveiling, we didn't play a game today and it just confirms all the support we have and I don't take it for granted."
Coach Ash and the players worked together to decide on the new uniforms, which helped make the decision much easier.
"We involved the players in the selection, having them look at the designs," said Ash. "It was a process with a lot of people being involved to come up with the final look."
The players were appreciative of being a part of the process with Bleskin saying, "it's nice that we didn't get totally overrun and that we had a little say. But I think they did a great job in picking six combinations that represent us well."
And even with all of the new combinations to pick from, the players still have their favorites in the bunch.
"I would say, white on white first and then secondly blue with the white pants," said McGhee as laughed. "I love the white pants."
"I've never worn white on white so that would be cool," said Bleskin. "But just like coach ash was saying, I'm not like that superstitious and at the end of the day just give me a jersey to play in. The jerseys look great but we gotta win games."
It was also revealed by Root Sports at the press conference that over the weekend the Seattle Mariners will run a feature exclusively on the MSU jersey unveiling during their pre and post game shows. Lots of excitement in the buildup to the upcoming football season
