MISSOULA, Mont. -

The Lady Griz basketball team picked up a big conference win Thursday night beating Eastern Washington 81-64 inside Dahlberg Arena.

Thursday's contest was the first time this season the Lady Griz played a conference game at home in Missoula. It was a battle between the Lady Griz and Eagles, Eastern Washington entered the season picked first in the coaches preseason poll while Montana was picked second.

Eastern Washington jumped out to an early lead, but the Lady Griz quickly erased the deficit and never looked back in the contest. Montana went into the half with a nine point lead over the Eagles who led for less than a minute in the entire game. In the second half UM increased its lead to as many as 22 points and won the game 81-64.

Jordan Sullivan led the Lady Griz in scoring with 24 points, she went 3-4 from three-point range, and 8-13 from the field. Kellie Cole chipped in an additional 22 points and seven hard fought rebounds.

With the victory Montana improved to 8-4 overall, and 2-1 in conference play. The Lady Griz will be back in action Saturday, Jan. 11, inside Dahlberg Arena.
