MISSOULA, Mont. -

The Gophers outplayed the Grizzlies to a final score of 84-58 as Montana dropped their season opener on the road inside the Williams Arena Tuesday night.

Griz guard Jordan Gregory scored the first points of the game when he connected on a 3-pointer, but it was all Gophers after that.  Junior guard Andre Hollins led Minnesota with 24 points as the Gophers improved to 2-0 on the season under first year head coach Richard Pitino.

The Grizzlies were shot 20-50 (40%) from the floor and a dreadful 12-22 (55%) from the free throw line. Montana was out-rebounded by a large margin of 45-29.

Senior Kareem Jamar posted 18 points and 6 rebounds for Montana; Jamar was the only Grizzly to reach double figures in scoring.

Montana will wrap up their two game road trip Thursday night at South Dakota State.
