MISSOULA, Mont. -

Sunday morning Elizabeth Paddock finished the Missoula Marathon as the women's top racer. Paddock crossed the finish line just after 9 a.m. she said she had hoped to run about five minutes faster than her finish time but was overall pleased with the outcome.

"It is amazing to see that finish line, and know you are so close and also to be first and know that a banner is waiting for you it was great," said Paddock.

Paddock, who is originally from upstate New York moved with her husband to Missoula last October from Madison, Wisconsin. Paddock starting running at an early age and she ran competitively in high school as well as college. This was Paddock's first time running the Missoula Marathon.
