Monmouth 48, Cornell 23: Brandon Hill threw four touchdown passes and Kwabena Asante added two rushing scores as the host Hawks rolled over the Big Red.
Hill completed 20-of-32 passes for a game-high 308 yards. Asante had 171 yards on 26 carries for Monmouth (4-4), which avenged its loss to Cornell last year. Lamar Davenport added four catches for 102 yards and a touchdown for the Hawks.
Jeff Mathews was 13-for-29 passing for 223 yards, two touchdowns and an interception for Cornell (1-4). Grant Gellatly had five catches for 86 yards and a TD for the Big Red.
Monmouth got off to a 17-0 lead as Hill followed up a Hawks' field goal with TD passes to Thaddeus Richards (7 yards) and Neal Sterling (11 yards). But the Big Red scored the last 16 points of the first half, capped by Mathews' 15-yard touchdown pass to Gellatly with 2:36 left to make it 17-16.
Hill added two more scores in the third quarter and Eric Spillane kicked his second field goal of the day from 28 yards out as Monmouth padded its lead to 34-16. Mathews tossed a 27-yard strike to Lucas Shapiro with 14:21 to play for Cornell, but Asante rushed for two scores before the two-minute warning to cement the Hawks' victory.
