Capital High's star running back Gunnar Brekke, who had verbally committed to play football for the Montana Grizzlies has had a change of heart and decided to play for Rob Ash's Montana State Bobcats.
Brekke, who was the Montana Gatorade Football Player of the Year, started having second thoughts about playing for the Griz and decided to make a visit to MSU.
He talked to former Bruins Brad Daly and Brian Bignell at Montana State, and Caleb Kidder who plays for the Griz. In the end Brekke said he was just more comfortable with the Bobcats.
The 6-foot 175 pounder rushed for 1,285 yards this season and 16 touchdowns, he ended his career as the Bruins career rushing leader with 2,415 yards.
Brekke had also received some interest from Washington State. Brekke, who was recruited as an athlete is not sure where he'll play down in Bozeman or whether he'll redshirt next fall.
