USC senior football team captain Josh Shaw admitted that he fabricated a story about rescuing a nephew in a pool, he lied about how he suffered ankle injuries. The school announced he is suspended from the team indefinitely. Check out other shocking sports scandals from recent decades.

1993. Florida State University “Free Shoes” Scandal. In FSU’s run to the football national championship in 1993, nine Florida State players violated NCAA rules by allowing agents to give them money and favors, as well as bankroll an infamous shopping spree at a Foot Locker store.
