Griz Want To Start Better This Year Against Western State

For the second straight season, the Montana Grizzlies will open up with Division II squad Western State.

The scorebook remembers last year's game as a 38-0 Montana blowout, but that doesn't tell the whole story.

The first half was actually a pretty poor start to the season, offensively.

The game was scoreless after a quarter, and the Griz managed just 10 first half points, their fifth-worst output of their 15 game season.

Most notably, Andrew Selle struggled in his first ever start, throwing an interception and completing just 40 percent of his passes.

The Grizzlies don't want to repeat that this year.

“We didn't play particularly well, especially in the first half. I talked with the offense [on Wednesday] and [they need to do better] on Saturday,” says head coach Robin Pflugrad.

“We had a little fun watching it as an offense. Personally for me as a starter there were a lot of things we have to work on. Things weren't very crisp. It's a challenge to come out and do it [better] this year,” says Selle.
