A fire burning along Highway 43 southwest of Butte is now 75 percent contained.
The blaze was threatening multiple structures and fire crews raced to get a handle on it Monday.
According to the Dillon Interagency Dispatch, the Pioneer Fire is burning five miles west of Wise River and is currently 45 acres.
It crossed the highway Monday, and travelers were advised to use alternate routes.
Three volunteer fire departments, two forest service engines, a helicopter and a hand crew responded. The helicopter was later sent to the fire burning near Philipsburg.
