A physical therapist from Whitefish has qualified for the Ironman 70.3 World Championships. Jason Falcon placed second in his age group on Sunday.
The top three qualifiers from each age group advance to the championships.
This is the second time Falcon has reached the world stage. He competed in the 2009 championships in Florida.
Falcon says he competes to serve as a role model for his patients.
"I want my patients to believe in what I practice, so there's a nice overlap there of being a triathlete and pushing yourself physically and mentally," Falcon said.
The race is composed of a 1.2-mile swim, 56-mile bike ride and a 13.1-mile run.
The competition will take place September 7 at Mont-Tremblant in Quebec, Canada.
