KALISPELL, Mont. -

A 32-year-old Whitefish man has denied charges that he stole items from the home of a Flathead County sheriff's deputy while the deputy was recovering from injuries suffered in head-on crash.

David Lamb pleaded not guilty to felony theft during a March 6 hearing in District Court in Kalispell.

Prosecutors allege Lamb stole a mountain bike, a firearm and numerous tools while doing work on Deputy Robert Brauer's house while Brauer was hospitalized after the August 2013 crash. Most of the items were recovered at a pawn shop.

Brauer suffered a two broken bones in his left leg and his left foot was crushed in the crash. He also suffered a broken right heel, kneecap and wrist. The other driver is charged with felony negligent vehicular assault.
