KALISPELL, Mont. -

West Valley School of Kalispell has been approved for a $6.8 million bond.

The school is using the money to add a 34,000 square foot addition. It will include 15 classrooms, a new library, a new music room, an additional practice gym and a placeholder for a potential new kitchen.

They are planning to break ground in early August, and anticipate it being finished in the beginning of the 2015 school year.

The plans have been designed by CTA Architects and Engineers in Kalispell. The main planner, David Koel, explained that this addition is unique compared to most schools.

They have eliminated hallways in the idea of having an enlarged central area where classrooms can meet and discuss. The classrooms will face this “gathering area” and have access to it through big class doors.
