A county attorney in south-central Montana says investigators have identified a person of interest in the death of an Alaska man who was struck and killed while walking on Interstate 90 early on Sept. 30.
Sweet Grass County Attorney Patrick Dringman says the suspect is a truck driver. He says the investigation is wrapping up and a charging decision is expected in the next few weeks.
Earlier this week, a Washington state woman and her father denied charges filed after the death of 81-year-old Elgie Bedford of Wasilla.
Wyran Young of Oak Harbor, Wash., pleaded not guilty to leaving the scene of a fatal crash. She and her father, Westley Young, denied tampering with evidence.
Charging documents allege Wyran Young was driving her father's pickup when it hit Bedford's body and that they stopped at a car wash in Livingston to wash off the evidence.
