The University of Montana has put up for sale a lodge on Salmon Lake northeast of Missoula.
It is asking $6.5 million for the Montana Island Lodge on Sourdough Island.
The lodge includes a large house that has hosted weddings, pajama parties and Los Angeles television producers looking to surprise their wives on notable birthdays.
The property goes on the market this week.
UM vice president of administration and finance Mike Reid tells the Missoulian ( that the retirement of the lodge's longtime general manager caused the university to evaluate its options with the lodge.
The school considered keeping the lake retreat as a guest lodge and conference center, but Reid says that didn't fit the university's educational mission.
