HAMILTON, Mont. -

Ravalli County's embattled treasurer's job could be on the line later this week.

Ravalli County Attorney Bill Fulbright will meet with commissioners Thursday. They will discuss the investigation that found no evidence of criminal activity in the treasurer's office, nor corruption against other county officials, as alleged by Stamey.

There will be a status report of an ongoing independent audit of the office, and a commission lawsuit against Stamey for allegedly failing to submit financial reports on time. That lawsuit hasn't been filed yet.

Stamey has been on paid administrative leave since January. But that could change.

There could be "discussion leading to whether or not the elements are there to consider suspension of the treasurer for official misconduct," said county commissioner Greg Chilcott.

The meeting is scheduled for Thursday at 10:30 a.m.
