MISSOULA, Mont. - Three women were arrested for protesting a controversial "megaload" Friday morning.
The protesters gathered at midnight on the intersection of South and Reserve at the Rosauers Parking lot in Missoula.
Sergeant Rose says the 3 women, ages 77, 66, and 72, were arrested for disorderly conduct at about 12:30 and were taken to the Missoula County Detention Center. They had been blocking the roadway as the giant load of oil refinery equipment drove through town.
Protestors say they are representing the Nez Perce and Shoshone tribes of Idaho and the Confederated Umatilla tribes of Oregon.
The Omega Morgan Load is headed to the Tar Sands in Alberta and is now parked in Bonner for the day.
