BOZEMAN, Mont. -

The Sweet Pea Festival is less than a month away and a big part of the festival is on display in downtown Bozeman. Every year the Board of Directors for the festival chooses a poster that best represents the meaning of the Sweet Pea Festival.

There were 40 entries this year and they are on display at ERA Landmark Real Estate on Main Street. The grand prize for the winning design is $1,000.

However there is a People's Choice Award that will be given out at the end of July. That means there is still time to vote for your favorite design.

Andria Huntsinger is the executive director of the Sweet Pea Festival. She tells us entries for the poster design came from as far away as Wisconsin this year.

"It gives the community an opportunity to see what Sweet Pea means to a lot of different artists. They are not only from Bozeman, but we got several entries from around the country. People who used to be in Bozeman or have left the area, or they just visited the festival at one time," said Huntsinger.

NBC Montana's Lauren Maschmedt and First Alert Meteorologist Mark Heyka will be at the Sweet Pea Festival on August 2nd, opening night, so stop by and say hello.
