BOZEMAN, Mont. -

Music on Main had a bit of a slow start Thursday night, but picked up toward the end.

People we talked with tell us they came from several Independence Day cookouts.

Some people told us they stopped by to check out vendors and food. While others say they came down to kill some time before heading out to the fire works.

Angela Frye owns the Mud Hut Coffee Spot on West Main Street in Bozeman.  Frye told us Music on Main was a good place break up the holiday.

"There's not a lot to do in Bozeman on the 4th of July. Most people leave and the fireworks are not until 10:30 p.m. I think this is going to be great, give them something to do in between dinner and the fireworks," said Frye.

Mackenzie River Pizza Company tells us sales actually were OK.

They say summer vacations this time of the year means less folks attending the event.
