Ski store reports booming business after first snow
Folks at one Bozeman ski shop say since the first sign of snow last Wednesday, they've seen foot traffic increase 25 percent. Considering it's still early autumn, they say that's a lot.
Employees at PHD Skis tell us between 15 and 20 customers have come in to have bindings mounted onto their skis and another 20 folks have come in looking to get their skis tuned.
They say it's promising to see this much excitement so early in the season.
"We have been seeing the excitement of a heavy winter this year, just specifically with our first three days of officially being fall, we've seen snow already. That's a pretty big indicator that we're set up for a good winter," says PHD Skis' Stuart Lange.
Lange explains, compared to last year's fall, business is night and day. He also credits some of their traffic to the store's participation in MSU's Catapalooza, a ski movie and new Trew clothing company touring through Bozeman for their steady business.
