Search resumes for missing man at Placid Lake
The following is a release from the Missoula County Sheriff's Office:
Seeley Swan Search and Rescue is resuming its search for missing DelRay Saeman at Placid Lake.
Senior Deputy Bob Parcell announces that the Seeley Swan Search and Rescue will continue their search for missing boater, sixty-nine-year-old, DelRay Saeman on Saturday August 31st at 0600 hours. Seeley Swan S & R will coordinate a multi-agency effort with Flathead County Search and Rescue, Lake County Search and Rescue and Missoula County Search and Rescue.
Parcell explained that two search dogs from Billings will assist in the search as well as resources from other contributing Search and Rescue Units. Parcell explained that the search dogs are utilized in the search by patrolling the water by boat, then detecting smells that may be present at the surface of the water. When the dogs detect a “hit” or smell, the sonar is then deployed to that location in the water from various angles. Parcell added that the assisting Search and Rescue units will provide sonar, scuba dive teams, jet boats and up to three search dogs.
The Missoula County Sheriff’s Office understands that this is a difficult time for Saeman’s family and keeps them in their thoughts while search efforts are underway.
