A Kalispell school administrator will bid farewell to the district next summer. Superintendent Darlene Schottle announced her resignation Tuesday to the Board of Trustees. She credits staff and the community for helping Kalispell schools grow so students have access to the best educational programs.
Schottle told NBC Montana leaving School District 5 will be bittersweet, but felt it's time to transition into the next phase of her life.
"I'd like to be a grandma for a while," said Shottle. "Just be able to attend events and I would love to have a summer in the Flathead where I can go out. Go kayaking, hiking, and just enjoy this wonderful place that we live as well."
Schottle has served the district for 10 years. She will leave her post on June 30, 2014.
