S. Idaho man cited for animal neglect
TWIN FALLS COUNTY
A south-central Idaho man who police say is responsible for a malnourished horse and an injured donkey has been cited with two counts of animal neglect and obstructing an officer.
The Twin Falls County Sheriff's Office tells The Times-News (http://bit.ly/16nVj2u) in a story on Friday that the animals belong to 52-year-old David Gonzalez of Buhl.
Police say an investigation began July 19 after a malnourished, 2-year-old paint horse was found hobbled in a pasture. The owner was identified July 24 following a story in the newspaper.
Then on July 26 a hobbled and bleeding donkey was found in the same pasture.
Police say the horse will auctioned at the Twin Falls Livestock Commission on Friday. Police say Gonzalez has taken care of the donkey and it will not be seized.
