A 23-year-old Missoula man was killed in a rollover accident on Gold Creek Road near Montana Highway 200 early Sunday morning.

Montana Highway Patrol tells us the driver and two passengers were heading southbound on Gold Creek Road when the driver crashed around 3:00 a.m.

Officials say the driver lost control of the Subaru Forester and the vehicle rolled down an embankment hitting a tree.

The driver was taken to St. Patrick Hospital where he was declared dead.

Troopers say the two other passengers refused medical treatment; they tell us speed may have been a factor in the wreck.

The wreck is currently under investigation.
