HAMILTON, Mont. -

Federal funding for Ravalli County's family planning program has been extended through September.

Commissioners voted 3 to 2 Thursday to accept federal and state money to finish out the year.

The program has come under fire because minors aren't required to get parental notification to obtain Title 10 services.

The program provides contraceptives and STD tests, as well as individual counseling.

It also provides breast and cervical exams, and basic reproductive health.

"I am feeling really good,"said public health director, Judy Griffin."The decision by the county commissioners means that we can continue services as usual with our Title 10 funding and clinics that will be coming up in July, August and September."

Commissioners also voted to retain the programs nurse practitioner's contract for 2014.

She provides the contracted services for family planning.
