For 16 years Glacier Guides and Montana Raft Company has promoted clean rivers with their annual Rafting for Refuse. The company offers a free rafting trip for volunteers who come out to pick up trash in and around river put-ins on the Middle Fork of the Flathead River.

Volunteers tell us they're happy to see there is little to no garbage in these areas, but were thrilled to do their part in cleaning up an area that so many people utilize during the summer months.

"It's really important for us to make sure that we acknowledge and appreciate the places that we turn to for recreation," said Faith Bernstein. "Making sure that we're giving back in any way that we can to preserve the beauty of those places."
