MISSOULA, Mont. -

Missoula Police are continuing to investigate the cause of a destructive avalanche in a Rattlesnake neighborhood.

Public Information Officer Travis Welsh said detectives have interviewed people who were recreating in the area of Mount Jumbo at the time of the avalanche Friday.

"Potentially, we could be looking at a trespass scenario which has resulted now in damaged property and personal injury," he said.

Welsh said detectives will meet with the Missoula County Attorney's Office this week to discuss the results of the investigation and the possibility of criminal accountability.
