NBC Montana and the Missoulian will launch a first-of-its-kind phone bank after in-depth stories this week on the problem of prescription drug abuse in Montana.
The Prescription for Addiction series is the first project in a partnership between the two news outlets intended to bring to our audiences the journalistic skills and expertise of our combined newsrooms.
Over the past several months reporters, photographers, videographers and editors at the news station and the newspaper have worked together to produce this eight-day report across all our platforms: on the air, in print and online.
One of our main goals was to not only expose and explore the problem, but to also offer solutions. To that end, a group of medical, addiction, pharmaceutical and law enforcement experts will be waiting to answer questions.
Volunteers can be reached at 523-5240. Phone lines will open at 5 p.m. Thursday and close at 7 p.m.
You can also submit questions for real time answers by heading to the Missoulian’s webpage or finding the link on nbcmontana.com.
All callers will remain anonymous.
