The second big horse race of the season took place at the Pimlico race course in Baltimore today.
The 138th Running of the Preakness Stakes drew hundreds of horse race fans and risky betters to Katie O’keefe’s casino.
There, Montanan’s shared a common favorite to win. It wasn’t a horse. Garry was the resounding name echoing off the walls of the casino.
Gary Stevens is the native Idahoan who has won his spot in the hall of fame for numerous accolades in thoroughbred horse racing.
Stevens announced he would be coming out of retirement back in January.
His horse Oxbow, or number six as betters refer to the horse jockey team, was the winner. And there were plenty of winners in Missoula tonight.
The winning horse at the Kentucky Derby, Orb placed fourth.
Since neither Oxbow nor Orb won both races, there will be no Tripple Crown after the Belmont Stakes, which takes place in three weeks.
