FRENCHTOWN, Mont. -

Montana Highway Patrol officials say one woman died in a rollover accident near Frenchtown Saturday afternoon.

Troopers say the 36-year-old Missoula resident was heading west on Frontage Road near the Frenchtown Pond in a red Toyota SUV at a high rate of speed when she lost control of the vehicle, swerved off the road, and hit an embankment.

The impact sent the vehicle airborne and into a tree. The SUV rolled several times before coming to a rest on its wheels.

Troopers say the woman was not wearing a seat belt, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation. The woman's name has not been released pending notification of family members.
