A rural school celebrated a building that's been a year in the making. Olney-Bissell School held an open house so folks could tour the new multipurpose building.
Last fall the school partnered up with Flathead Valley Community College's Building Trades Program to complete the project. It's the K-8 schools' first expansion since the 1980s. FVCC students started construction in September and now all that's left to finish is the floors.
"Even though it has taken a while to get done, it has been so worth it and we're so thrilled to have our building done," said Principal Lona Everett.
The price tag for the addition comes in at just under $40,000. The school didn't need to pass a bond or a levy to have it done, the money is coming from the sale of the old Olney School in the 1990s.
