BOZEMAN, Mont. -

Forest Service officials confirm a new fire burning in the Pioneer Mountains about 14 miles northeast of Wisdom.

The Kelly Fire has burned 20 acres in steep, bug-infested lodgepole terrain.

Fire officials say weather conditions are causing the fire to spread and without a safe route for access, firefighters still haven't been able to get to the blaze.

Helicopters are being used for bucket drops to help cool the fire and keep it from spreading to the east.

A pre-evacuation notice is in effect for residents and the public in the Pioneer Mountains Scenic Byway corridor from Pattengail Creek to Lacey Creek.
