BOZEMAN, Mont. -

The Museum of the Rockies held their 12th annual Wine Classic, Saturday.

Guests had the chance to sample 100 different wines and 20 caterers from across southwest Montana offered hor doerves.

Folks with the museum say the event is their biggest fundraiser of the year and expects close to 400 people to attend.

They tell us they must raise between four to five million dollars every year to keep the museum up and running.

"It's really important for us, this event. Every dollar that we receive in state funding, we need to earn six dollars more and so, events like this are really important for us to be able to do the kind of programming we do for the community," says Museum of the Rockies Executive Director Shelley McKamey.

Most of the money raised at the gala will go towards general operations- staff, programming and research.

The gala's Dutch auction brings in funds for their changing exhibits fund.
