MISSOULA, Mont. -

The Pine Creek Complex is made up of two fires that have torched nearly 40,000 acres, which is just south of Fossil, Oregon in the central part of the state.

The Public Information Officer with the Western Montana Type 2 Incident Management Team told NBC Montana the team is keeping a close eye on the weather, especially the wind.

"Friday, we are inspecting 15 to 20 mile per hour winds, guessing up to 30 mile per hour winds which of course can affect the fire so we are keeping an eye out, approaching this with a maximum safety of firefighters and individuals," said Brian LaMoure.

Crews are scouting and evaluating 16 structures to the east of the fire, to make sure that they will stay safe.
