MISSOULA, Mont. -

We're following up tonight on rate increases for Mountain Water in Missoula and we’ve learned the average bill will now total $47.35 per month.

The aging water system been criticized for its 40 percent leakage rate.

The company tells us the extra costs, which will bring in an estimated $550,000 a year, will go towards continued infrastructure improvement.

Mountain Water President John Kappes says in 2014 the company will invest $4 million for continued repairs, on top of the $4 million it invested last year.
