MISSOULA, Mont. -

On Saturday, thousands of Montanans showed their Griz spirit by heading out to the annual Homecoming Parade on Higgins in Missoula. The NBC Montana team that passed out candy included Anchors Heidi Meili and Laurel Staples, Meteorologist Brooke Foster and reporters Will Wadley and Emily Adamson.

Organizations from around Western Montana walked in the parade, including local high schools and clubs. The candy was a big draw, but music and creative floats drew onlookers as well.

The parade started out on North Higgins, crossed the Higgins bridge and wrapped around toward the University of Montana.

“For us it’s been a tradition for the last three or four years and we just didn’t want to miss it,” said Missoula resident and parade attendee Ryan Chapin.
