MISSOULA, Mont. -

Floating season is here, but officials say it can still be dangerous.

Even though there are currently no serious threats on the rivers, and Missoula Rural Fire Chief Paul Finley says everyone should take precautions before diving in.

"My advice I guess to people that want to go floating is to be prepared, with proper floatation devices, throw bags, helmets, and then a plan obviously, and an emergency plan as well. To make a safe float."

Fast speeds and high waters still hold a danger, especially with those of a younger age.
