Montana federal judge receives honorary doctorate

A federal judge in Missoula has received an honorary doctorate from University College Cork in Cork, Ireland.
The Missoulian reports ( that U.S. District Judge Donald Molloy on Friday received the honorary doctorate in literature, arts and laws with three others at the university.
The school cited Molloy's personal interest in his Irish heritage and his helping forge strong links with UCC's law and Irish program as well as being a motivating factor in a student exchange program with the University of Montana School of Law.
Molloy has ruled on an array of topics over the years, including wolves, logging, and the legality of federal marijuana raids in Montana.
In honoring the four, UCC President Michael Murphy said the school wanted to recognize their pursuit of excellence and publicly acknowledge their achievements.
