A Delta flight flying from Montana to Minnesota made an emergency landing in northeast South Dakota after a passenger had a heart attack on board.

NBC Montana checked flight records out of Montana airports and called Aberdeen Regional Airport director Michael Wilson to find out more about the flight.

We discovered the Delta Airlines flight departed from Helena right around 6:00 a.m. Tuesday morning.

The Helena Regional Airport website says flight 5706 was diverted to Aberdeen, South Dakota from its original destination of Minneapolis.

The flight took back off from Aberdeen just after 10 a.m. local time and arrived in Minneapolis less than an hour later.

According to Randy Meister with Aberdeen Fire and Rescue, a passenger on board had a heart attack but appeared to be conscious and talking as he was loaded into an ambulance.
