MISSOULA, Mont. -

The Missoula Redevelopment Agency has hired a contractor to study blight areas in the city.

The agency hired Community Development Services of Butte.

Ellen Buchanan is the executive director of the agency. She says that if adequate blight is found and the city council agrees, two tax increment districts could be created.

Two areas being eyed are north of the railroad tracks between North Reserve and Scott streets.

Another area is south of Interstate 90 between Madison Street and the location of the planned Missoula College.

Buchanan says the studies are expected to be finished in six months, along with urban renewal plans.
