MISSOULA, Mont. -

A 48-year-old Missoula man has been ordered to pay just over $25,000 in restitution for fraudulently collecting Social Security disability payments while failing to report money he made running a medical marijuana growing operation.

The U.S. Attorney's Office says 48-year-old Scott Lee Hubeny also was placed on five years' probation Wednesday by U.S. District Judge Donald Molloy.

Hubeny pleaded guilty in January to theft of government money for benefits he unlawfully received between April 2010 and September 2011.

Bank records indicated Hubeny deposited nearly $38,000 into his bank accounts from January 2010 through April 2011, not including his monthly $1,400 disability payments.

Hubeny's grow operation was raided in June 2011 and officers seized 243 marijuana plants and nearly five pounds of marijuana.
